My ADHD makes it very difficult for me to commit to anything, which is a large part of why I don’t do series and have a really hard time with writing a novel. I have written novels. When someone is paying me to. But writing my own? I’m just not there yet.
So, I’ve decided for now that I’m sticking to short stories that are under 10,000 words. It makes me more comfortable knowing I can complete it.
I am working on a series though. The series has a common theme but all the stories are different – different couples, same setting. I’m hoping that there’s enough variety there that I can stick with it.
I’m excited that I have the first five covers made. I really want to share them but…I think I’m going to hang tight and share them before the books come out.
I’m working on getting four stories written before I launch. Maybe five. That way, as you read the stories you’ll always know that there’s more coming. The first story will be available to my newsletter subscribers for free.
I am writing this new series under a new pen name. Autumn Knight, I think. I am fine with the idea of readers knowing that I write menage, instalove, and lesbian stories. Why not? I am pan/bi so it makes sense that I wouldn’t write in one genre.
And then there’s the fact that my ADHD won’t let me stick to one genre. LOL
But I’m primarily focused on the instalove romance series for now. If I can, I’ll be publishing some of the other stuff, too.
As I have time, I might put up something short on Medium.
And guess what? The freebie for my new instalove series is going up on my Patreon after I publish this post!
I’ve been struggling a lot lately because I’m trying to find balance between writing freelance and writing for myself. It’s an age old struggle. I wish I had put more into writing my own stuff when I still had money to support myself but…wishes ain’t getting me anywhere.
So, now I just need to try my best to get my shit together and find the balance I need.
